You will assist a journeyman mechanic or worker with work that cannot be handled alone, and also perform less difficult tasks alone. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. - Assisting with the construction, repair, maintenance, of the structures and mechanical systems and grounds maintenance to include grass cutting and snow removal. - Using a working knowledge of the basic practice, procedures, tools, materials, and terminology of any particular trade. - Using trade hand tools of any particular trade and in the use of portable power tools. Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to perform the duties of the position rather than the length of experience. Eligibility will be determined by the relevance, scope, and quality of all experience and training, regardless of where or how acquired. Applicants will be rated and ranked based on their knowledge of the following job elements:
- Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (screen out element)- Work Practices (includes keeping things, neat, clean and in order)- Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (other than blueprints)- Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment- Dexterity and safety National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
